Dress Code
Please carefully read the dress code below. There will be a grace period during the first two weeks of September, however after this time a dancer will be asked to change or leave class if they are not dressed appropriately.
SHOE DESCRIPTIONS
BALLET SHOES
Full or split sole ballet shoe in pink for girls and black for boys
GHILLIE SHOES
Black soft or hard (ask teacher for recommendation during class)
(Note: after January, teachers may require a certain style or color for the recital depending on the costume)
GYM SHOES
Non-marking tennis shoes that are only worn at the studio (NEVER worn outside)
(Note: after January, teachers may require a certain style or color for the recital depending on the costume)
(Note: after January, teachers may require black jazz shoes for the recital depending on the costume)
JAZZ SHOES
Nude/caramel color jazz shoes for girls and black for boys
(Note: after January, teachers may require black jazz shoes for the recital depending on the costume)
NUDE HALF SHOES
Single or double strap in dancer's skin tone (leather or canvas)
POINTE SHOES
Pink with elastics and ribbons sewn on to fit dancer's preference
TAP SHOES
Black tap shoe (lace up or buckle style)
ALL COMBO CLASSES

BALLET/POINTE

BALLET
Black leotard and pink tights for girls. Hair must be in a ballet bun with all strands away from face and off of the neck. Black pants and a white, plain t-shirt for boys. Ballet shoes.
BALLET/CONTEMPORARY
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
PRE-POINTE
Black leotard and pink tights. Hair must be in a ballet bun with all strands away from face and off of the neck. Ballet shoes - Pointe shoes ONLY after approved by the teacher.
POINTE
Black leotard and pink tights. Hair must be in a ballet bun with all strands away from face and off of the neck. Pointe shoes.
ALL OTHER CLASSES

ACRO
Any dance attire that is fitted. No loose tank tops, shirts, or sweatpants. Leotards, spandex shorts, leggings, crop tops are good options. Hair must be pulled away from the face and neck. No jewelry or smart watches. Bare feet - no socks.
B-BOYS
Non-restrictive athletic/dance clothing. Hair pulled off of face if needed. Gym shoes.
BALLET/CONTEMPORARY
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
CONTEMPORARY
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
DANCER CONDITIONING
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Bare feet.
HIP HOP
Non-restrictive athletic/dance clothing. Gym shoes.
IMPROV
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
IRISH
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Jazz shoes.
JAZZ
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Jazz shoes.
LEAPS, JUMPS, TURNS
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
LYRICAL
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
MODERN
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
MUSICAL THEATER
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Jazz shoes.
POM/KICK
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Jazz shoes.
TAP
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Tap shoes.
TURNS & TECHNIQUE
Any color leotard, tights, or other fitted dance attire. Hair pulled off of face and neck. Half shoes.
